Two Days in Lubbock

Mackenzie Park at 11:00am!

Next, head off to the Mackenzie Park, a recreational spot with a fishing lake, equestrian trails, an amphitheatre and public art sculptures. Take a relaxing walk along the lake, enjoy the beautiful views of the river, watch the small critters at the Prairie Dog Town, play a round of disc golf at Mackenzie Disc Golf Course, or go horseback riding on equestrian trails. Fun for all ages!

Joyland Amusement Park at 12:00pm!

Head off to Joyland Amusement Park that has wonderful rides and attractions. Enjoy fun games and variety of thrill rides, including adventurous roller coaster, water coaster, colorful carousel, and many more kiddies rides and family classics.  Relish snack foods at the stalls in the park. A perfect spot for adults and children both, who want to spend some good time doing rides of all kinds and water activities. Unleash the child in your and have fun on the rides!

Lunch at 2:00pm!

Head off to Ranch House Restaurant (1520 Buddy Holly Ave) or Back Door Diner (1212 Avenue K) for some American fare. Craving for Mexican food, drop by Taqueria Jalisco (2211 Avenue Q) or head off to River Smith's Chicken & Catfish Restaurant (406 Avenue Q) that serves up seafood, Cajun & Creole. 

Buddy Holly Center at 3:00pm!

Lubbock trip is incomplete without visiting the rock-n-roll legend center- Buddy Holly Center. Pay tribute to the music icon Buddy Holly at the Buddy Holly Center. The center features artifacts and personal items from the singer’s life, including photographs, guitar, clothing, albums, fan letters, and more. 

Catch a live performance at 4:00pm!

Head off to the Cactus Theater, a live performance theater that offers theatrical plays, musical acts and concerts all year round in the Entertainment Depot District. Catch bands performing the hits of the music icons.

Sip and Sample the wine at 5:00pm!

Visit the McPherson Cellars Winery, one of the popular wineries in Lubbock. Tour the winery and sample a few wines. Their wines are delicious and inventive. Grab a seat on the patio, sip a few glasses of wine and enjoy the live music.  A perfect spot for oenophiles!

National Ranching Heritage Center at 2:00pm!

Head off to the National Ranching Heritage Center and learn about the history of the early settlers through authentic structures and tools used in the eighteenth century. The center features about fifty authentic restored historic structures, including cabins, a blacksmith shop, railroad depot, bunkhouses, windmills and other historic buildings, dating back to the late eighteenth century to the mid-twentieth century.

Silent Wings Museum at 3:00pm!

Visit the Silent Wings Museum that showcases the history of the WWII military gliders. It showcase the valour and valiance of the soldiers during the war.
